Behind the Scenes
OUR MISSION: To facilitate
the reduction of all types of pollutants in the ponds, streams, and free-flowing tributaries
of the Cool Springs Watershed to protect desirable aquatic life for the benefit of all
residents of the watershed and surrounding areas.

Cool Spring Creek is located in Mercer County Pennsylvania and is an approved trout waters.
REQUEST A RIPARIAN BUFFER
CSWA organizes and executes riparian buffer plantings free of charge, all we need is landowner permission! We work with the landowner to determine the size of buffers and species to be planted. We have access to a variety of plants including fruit and nut producers such as elderberry, blueberry, mulberry and hazelnut.
RIPARIAN BUFFER BENEFITS
A riparian buffer is a strip vegetation along the banks of a stream. It may include trees, shrubs, bushes and grass. Any size or type of buffer provides benefits by filtering fertilizers used on lawns and farms before they enter the watershed; reducing sedimentation by stabilizing stream banks; creating shade to keep waters cool; and providing food and habitat for wildlife.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!!
I understood when I was just a child that without water, everything dies. I didn't understand until much later that no one "owns" water. It might rise on your property, but it just passes through. You can use it, and abuse it, but it is not yours to own. It is part of the global commons, not "property" but part of our life support system.
